SheCan | Hackathon of Digital Women
Digital Hub is launching SheCan in partnership with Cyrene Center as a digital women hackathon designed to help young women develop practical digital ideas and connect technology, entrepreneurship, and local market needs.
SheCan focuses on creating a hands-on experience that helps participants move from an early idea to a clearer project concept or early prototype through training, mentoring, teamwork, and structured idea development.
Hackathon Concept
SheCan is not only a technology event. It is a practical space for young women interested in technology and entrepreneurship to explore ideas, understand real problems, identify target users, and shape digital solutions that can be developed further.
Main Tracks
- Digital Finance and Financial Inclusion: solutions that support individuals and small businesses in payments, expense tracking, invoicing, or access to digital financial services.
- Employment, Freelancing, and Skills: digital ideas that connect skills to opportunities and support job seekers, freelancers, and young women building their career paths.
- Digital Commerce and SME Growth: solutions that help small businesses and local stores reach customers, manage orders, market products, or sell through digital channels.
- Green Economy and Sustainability: digital solutions related to resource efficiency, waste reduction, waste management, water, energy, or locally applicable sustainable services.
What does SheCan offer participants?
- A clearer understanding of the problem behind the idea.
- Development of the idea from a general concept into a more structured project.
- Exposure to basic business modeling and competitive advantage.
- Training and mentoring to improve and prepare the idea for presentation.
- Support in building an early concept or prototype that can be tested or presented.
- The opportunity to pitch during Pitch Day in front of a specialized committee.
- Potential technical or in-kind support for selected promising projects, depending on available resources.
Who is this hackathon for?
SheCan is suitable for young women interested in technology, entrepreneurship, freelancing, or building digital solutions that serve the community and the local market. Participants may join individually or as part of a team, provided that the main idea owner or team representative is a woman.
